Out of 4 yellow cards for Valencia, Messi was behind 3, plus a red card for double booking. So yes, Messi defeated Valencia three goals to nothing

Let it be known that Messi is the current leading scorer in La Liga with 22 goals, 5 goals ahead of Villa, his closest rival. Also, he is the Assist leader with 9 assists.
